When a store misses plan, "push harder" is not a diagnosis!

Before changing the huddle or challenging the team, a manager needs to check what happened. Was traffic lower? Were the right sizes available? Did the roster cover the busy periods? Were appointments protected? Did the team have a clear role on the floor?

Those questions matter because the action should fit the cause. If the store had a stock gap, another motivational speech will not make the product available. If the busiest hour had no experienced coverage, the next roster needs attention. If the evidence points to a behavior, then observe it and coach it specifically.

This is the kind of practical thinking behind Retail Lens. One session looks at the causes behind a missed plan; others cover floor coverage, stock and size gaps, coaching and daily huddles.

The lessons are free to read. Each session ends with a short decision task, so a manager can check whether they would act on the evidence or jump straight to a conclusion.
