Customer journey, appointment, stock and opening routine

Mock trading is a working rehearsal, not a ceremonial walk-through. It tests whether people, space, stock and systems work together under realistic conditions. The project lead should agree the scope, attendees and test conditions with the store and specialist owners.

Choose scenarios from the store's actual offer: opening the store, welcoming a walk-in, running an appointment, finding a product or size, completing an approved test transaction, receiving a delivery and responding to a service issue. Include different roles and shifts so the rehearsal does not depend on one experienced person.

Use only the authorized test methods for payments, customer systems and safety or security routines. Do not use live customer data or real payment activity as practice unless the responsible owner explicitly requires it. Follow the approved site access, stock and incident procedures throughout the rehearsal.

When something fails, record the exact step, expected result, observed result, effect on the customer or team, owner, priority and retest date. Separate a technical defect from a training gap or unclear hand-off. The right owner decides the fix; the store manager tracks the operational impact and makes sure the team knows the temporary approved procedure.

Retest each fix with the same scenario and record the evidence. Carry unresolved items into the project readiness review with an authorized owner and decision date. A successful rehearsal gives evidence about the tested scenarios; it does not replace formal technical acceptance or project handover.
